Premron Pty Ltd is a conveyor manufacturing company based in Gladstone, Queensland, with extensive know-how in design, engineering, manufacturing, system engineering and programming. Utilising technology born from the currently available above ground conveying system, the Premron EBS, the company now provides the underground mining industry with a safe and continuous product haulage solution, the Premron CHS.
The Premron team has been augmented by employees with skill sets applicable to the industry, particularly underground electrical engineering, programming and automation. Premron have retained staff on the Premron EBS and Premron CHS as long as product inception in 1995.

Premron Pty Ltd has been built from 30+ years in the Australian mining industry, founded by Mr. Brian Whelan, a local engineer from regional Queensland.
Following extensive overseas research, Brian discovered and introduced new conveyor technology to the Australian market and Premron has become a leader in innovative solutions for the mining and materials handling industry.

Industry Relationships & Partnerships
After the success of Premron’s EBS (Enclosed Belt System) the Australian Coal Industry and their research body ‘ACARP’ approached Premron in 2012, identifying the Enclosed Belt System as possible technology to be adopted into underground gateroad developments.
Since ACARP’s involvement in 2012, Premron have built and trial tested three prototype machines, and a final fully functional Mine Compliant system as part of the Premron and ACARP Research Development Project, tested at Kestrel Coal Mine in 2019 – 2020.

MICHAEL WHELAN
Mechanical EngineerMichael’s wealth of experience covers 25 years in the Power and Coal Mining Industry, including 13 years of direct exposure in Materials Handling Technology in Australia and Europe. Michael is responsible for all business operations on site and within the Gladstone workshop.
Since starting his career in 1995 Michael has not only developed dynamic insight to innovative industry technologies but established strong management foundations and valuable business relationships; a true testament to Premron's operational capabilities and quality standards today.

ARY SANTONY
Mechanical EngineerAry joined the Premron team in 2023, offering 8 years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer in both Australia and Indonesia. Ary’s Engineering experience comes from various roles including Structural and Mechanical Design. He has performed Project Management, Design Engineering and Supervision for both manufacturing and construction industry.
EASTON HARPER
Mechanical DraftsmanEaston joined the Premron team in 2022 as a Trainee, undertaking a Certificate III in Engineering which he completed in August 2023. Easton is developing his skills in the Engineering office and supports the Engineering and Drafting team. Easton is currently completing his Diploma in Engineering.

JOEL ROUSE
Electrician/Project ManagerJoel is a highly skilled electrician with over 20 years’ experience within the heavy industry and underground coal mining sectors. Joel has his Electrical Licenses, Contractor’s Ticket, EEHA and various other tickets that complement his skills and ability to perform on mining and industrial sites. Joel contributes management skills, along with an excellent understanding of standards, regulations and Workplace Health and Safety.

DAVID KING
Tradesman- BoilermakerDavid holds a Heavy Fabrication Trade Certificate and contributes 25 years’ experience in the Fabrication & Welding field, all local to Gladstone. David has worked with Managing Director, Michael Whelan, for 15+ years on multiple projects and moved to the role of Workshop/ Site Supervisor in 2022. David is a team player with a wealth of experience in his trade.

KAHLIA HIGGINS
Project SupportKahlia joined the Premron team in Jan 2019 in the role of Administration Trainee, undertaking a Certificate III Business. After successfully completing her qualification in 2020, Kahlia moved to the role of Project Support QA/QC and WHSE, when she undertook an Integrated Management Systems course for ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO45001. Kahlia now manages the Third-Party Accredited Management System with WHS, Quality and Environment, and provides support to both the manufacturing workshop and site installation through development of WHSE and Quality documents and final MDR’s. Kahlia provides day-to-day support to both our engineering and workshop teams to ensure a smooth delivery of job quality and assurance.

DANNI WHELAN
Administration ManagerDanni has worked with the Premron Group since 2018 developing, implementing and coordinating day to day procedures and operations of the business.
Danni brings with her 10+ years of experience within similar roles in the industry, and ensures the Premron Team runs like a well-oiled machine. Managing the reporting for Financial and Operational data. Danni is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and human resources within both the engineering and manufacturing departments. Danni also oversees the day-to-day activity within the Office Management role.
CASEY BOYCE
Administration/PurchasingWhen visiting our Premron facility you will be warmly greeted by Casey who joined the Premron team in 2021 as a Trainee, undertaking a Certificate III Business. This was successfully completed in late 2022. Casey is responsible for all administration duties including purchasing/expediting within the engineering and manufacturing departments. Casey is an all-rounder who also assists with HR duties, accounts and document control.
