The Premron CHS forms an enclosed pouch, shaped as a ‘tear drop’ encapsulating the payload ensuring dust free conveying. This system is used to remove product from the face and transport the payload directly to the Panel Belt, hence removing the requirement for Shuttle Cars.

  • The increased process rate can result in a significant advantage when completing a panel using the Premron CHS. The Premron can reduce operational delays in comparison to a shuttle car.

  • Unlike a shuttle car, the miner loads into the Premron CHS and removes coal continuously at up to 500tph. The process rate will be steady throughout the entire pillar being cut as not reliant on wheel distance to the boot end.

  • The Premron provides a significant advantage on cut and production rates in comparison to a shuttle car.

The Premron Continuous Haulage System will provide significant operational advantages within underground coal mines. 

The Premron CHS utilises the Premron Enclosed Belt System (Premron EBS); a FRAS rubber reinforced belt shaped as a tear drop which encloses the payload and ensures dust free conveying.

  • The Premron Continuous Haulage System is a monorail mounted closed loop conveyor system that follows the continuous miner during operation, allowing the safe and productive continuous haulage of coal from the face.

    The System
    Transferring the coal from the continuous miner, directly and continuously to the panel belt conveyor, the Premron CHS removes the requirement for a shuttle car to transfer the coal.

    The Design
    Designed with a modular concept, the Premron CHS facilitates relocation or expansion at any time, and optimises material removal, redistribution and hauling.

Productivity Comparison

Data for a simulation demonstrating the difference in performance between a bolter miner loading into a Premron Continuous Haulage System (CHS) and a shuttle car is displayed in this graph, using a pure process without delays, and accounting for the interdependencies of cutting, loading and bolting processes and coal clearance.

As the face is mined further from the boot end of the fixed belt conveyor, the distance the shuttle car has to travel to discharge its load increases.

Consequently the process rate decreases as mining and bolting operations are delayed while waiting for the shuttle car to return for another load.
